After an interesting start, Pine Class eventually made it to Compton Verney where they had great fun in the very muddy forest school! The children learned how to identify whether a house was built in the Stone Age; they tried to push an enormous lithic (stone) over; they went ‘hunting’ through a tunnel made out of sticks; they used flint to create a spark of fire; they worked together to construct a shelter; they learned how to make bread and how to weave sticks together and they created ‘cave’ art. At the end of the day, the children sat together around the fire pit and listened to more fascinating information about what life was like for people in the Stone Age.
