Year 3 had an exciting trip today to Compton Verney! They explored the grounds, deciding whether a house was built in the Stone Age or not and used all their strength trying to push an enormous lithic (stone) over… Sadly, they were unsuccessful! After arriving at the very muddy forest school camp, the children used flint to create a spark of fire; they worked together to construct a shelter; they learnt how to make bread and how to weave sticks together and they created ‘cave’ art. Finally, everyone sat around the fire pit and reflected on the day, discussing what life was like for people during the Stone Age. A wonderful day was had by all!
