Throughout the year, themed days and weeks are woven into the curriculum to extend the breadth and balance of opportunities we offer our pupils. These include: Online Safety Week, Science Week, World Book Day, Anti-Bullying Week, Sport’s Day, Remembrance Day, Easter celebrations, Diwali celebrations, Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, theatre pantomime visits and focused Art and Design Technology days.

World Mental Health Day – October 2024

On World Mental Health Day, pupils and staff marked the importance of managing our mental health and wellbeing by wearing an array of yellow!

In assembly this week, we talked about what different colours make us think of and feel. Yellow was a firm favourite colour for helping us to feel happy.

Author Visit – September 2024

Years 1, 2 and 3 had a visit from the award-winning author and illustrator Sophy Henn thanks to Stratford Literary Festival. The children loved hearing all about Sophy’s new book and completing a draw-along with her.

Diwali Celebrations 2023

Our whole school participated in a dance workshop led by Back2Back, a well-known Bhangra freestyle dance group from Wolverhampton. Our pupils were immersed in Bhangra music and learnt about the festival of Diwali and some traditional Bhangra dance moves. We have heard some wonderful feedback from parents and one told us their child had asked to play Bhangra music at home so they could perform the dance moves learnt in the workshop to their family.
